At the Citadelles du Vin 2020 Competition, our Castelo Rosé 2020 won the Gold Medal. A pale rosé wine, launched with the 2013 vintage, made with the Garnacha variety. Its elegant, subtle, and fresh aromas stand out, which are harmonious, tasty and balanced on the palate.
When tasted, a luminous pale pink layer with salmon reflections is visible. The nose is elegant and clean, with fine aromas of red fruits without sacrificing freshness. The palate is fluid and balanced, recovering all the fruit and the liveliness of the aromas. In the end, it is harmonious and tasty. Its pairing is broad and ranges from rice and pasta dishes to hot and cold salads, as well as chicken or smoked salmon.
The vineyard from which this wine is made is located in Finca La Garbancera, in the town of Villaverde de Medina (Valladolid). The soils that characterize this plot are sandy loam, shallow and with pebbles, obtaining very aromatic and faithful wines to the variety.
The wine is made as a white wine, with hardly any maceration with the skins, fermentation at low temperatures and a small aging on the lees in stainless steel tanks.
