Our history
The Bodegas Castelo de Medina project , located in Villaverde de Medina and in the middle of the Rueda Denomination of Origin, began its journey on November 28, 1995. The situation of our winery in this Valladolid municipality was not accidental: according to the famous “Cadaster of the Marqués de la Ensenada”, in 1752 this area was the region of Tierras de Medina with a larger area of vineyards of the Verdejo variety, which is the star grape variety of the current DO´s range.
At the very heart of our home
Tradition and good work are the ingredients we use to make our wines. The winery, with a barrel room dug into the hill, is our refuge, the place where magic happens.

It was the 1996 harvest that brought the first vintage of the wines from our winery, obtained from the 180 hectares of our own vineyard. Currently, Bodegas Castelo de Medina is in a new stage of evolution and development of an ambitious project led by the Bonet Ferrer family, with extensive experience and a strong link to the wine world.
