Facilities

Bodegas Castelo de Medina was founded in 1996 and has always had its own vineyards. These currently occupy an area of more than 180 hectares.

In 1996 the winery's main building was erected, featuring traditional Castilian architecture with a façade of face brick, stone, wrought iron and wood. This building houses the winery's offices and production facilities with stainless steel tanks that can store up to 1,200,000 litres of wine, as well as wine tasting rooms for visits by tourists and customers.

Annexed to the main building but not visible to visitors from outside is the barrel room, a space carved into a hill alongside the Castelo de Medina winery that is invisible to everyone outside. This room has storage for up to 800 barrels and has a constant temperature year round because it is underground.

In 2009, work began on a second space alongside the main unit. This went into service in 2010 and currently houses the winery's bottling plant, warehouse and dorm room.

Last but not least, Bodegas Castelo de Medina has an extensive, production facility that allows it to make excellent quality wine: its own 180-hectare vineyard which is more than 20 years old.
