The signature red wine produced by Bodegas Castelo de Medina received a Bronze Medal in a competition where the International Jury also granted a Recommendation to Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon Blanc 2012.
Yesterday morning, prestigious British magazine Decanter announced the jury’s decision the Decanter Worldwide Awards 2013, held in London. The jury selected Syté 2008 by Bodegas Castelo de Medina to receive a Bronze Medal.
At this edition, 219 wine experts from 27 countries, including 75 Masters of Wine and 13 Master Sommeliers, met in London for three days in April to taste 14,362 samples of wine from all over the world.
Syté 2008 is not the only wine produced by Bodegas Castelo de Medina to receive recognition in the British competition, because both Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon blanc 2012 obtained an International Jury Recommendation.
The Decanter Worldwide Awards have been considered the most important competition in the wine sector since it was first held in 2004. There were 4,000 wines entered for the first edition, less than a third of the number that entered the 2013 event.
